Gregory Colbert - Ashes & Snow

Gregory Colbert

“When I started Ashes and Snow in 1992, I set out to explore the relationship between man and animals from the inside out. In discovering the shared language and poetic sensibilities of all animals, I am working towards restoring the common ground that once existed when people lived in harmony with animals.” Gregory Colbert

Gregory Colbert was born in 1960 in Toronto, Canada. He is a film-maker and acclaimed photographer probably best known for his extraordinary exhibition "Ashes & Snow". The images are mesmerizing! They show people in a very intimate relationships with animals. The exhibition which is housed in the Nomadic Museum in Zócalo, Mexico, is destined to travel the world without a final destination.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love...

You're my man, my mighty king,
And I'm the jewel in your crown,
You're the sun so hot and bright,
I'm your light-rays shining down,

You're the sky so vast and blue,
And I'm the white clouds in your chest,
I'm a river clean and pure,
Who in your ocean finds her rest,

You're the mountain huge and high,

I'm the valley green and wide,
You're the body firm and strong,
And I'm a rib bone on your side,

You're an eagle flying high,
I'm your feathers light and brown,
You're my man, my king of kings,

And I'm the jewel in your crown.

Awakening the Impulse to Evolve

"In an evolutionary context, the goal of the spiritual life is not peace; it's perpetual development. It's about the ecstasy that compels us to create the future. And it's not a future that's going to unfold by itself, it's a future that we must create through direct, conscious, intentional engagement with the life-process itself." - Andrew Cohen

Kiss the Earth

Walk and touch peace every moment.
Walk and touch happiness every moment.
Each step brings a fresh breeze.
Each step makes a flower bloom.
Kiss the Earth with your feet.
Bring the Earth your love and happiness.
The Earth will be safe
When we feel safe in ourselves.
